“Lessons learned so far – Norway Grants Project Promoters” Seminar
The seminar “Lessons learned so far – Norway Grants Project Promoters” took place on 26 – 27 May 2015, in Trondheim, Norway. It was organised under the project initiative “Capacity building of project promoters and donor project partners to support the continued implementation and the planning of future Norway grants projects” under the Fund for bilateral relations of Programme BG14 “Judicial capacity-building and cooperation” of the Norwegian financial mechanism 2009-2014.
At the end of 2013 and beginning of 2014, the Norwegian Courts Administration (NCA) signed partnership agreements with counterpart institutions in Lithuania, Poland and Romania for cooperation in the framework of nine pre-defined Norway Grants projects. These projects are expected to be implemented within a two year period ending March 2016. As a Project Partner, the NCA is expected to partake in pre-defined project activities, depending on the specific project’s content and needs. In addition to partaking in the project implementation, the International Secretariat at the NCA acts as a Donor Programme Partner at the programme level.
During the implementation stage, it was discussed that while the NCA was gaining insight into all projects, including the different management and implementation contexts, the Project Promoters from the supported countries had never met each other. It was in this connection that the NCA International Secretariat suggested to convene a common session with all Project Promoters as a valuable experience for all parties to share management and problem solving approaches.
